Ian McSorley

Ian has been working with property developers and architects since 1979.

His UVic mentor Bill West taught him rendering techniques for theatre design. After graduating, his first commercial projects were architectural renderings. Among those early projects were renderings for Arthur Erickson’s Songhees development plan in Victoria, BC.

Ian has designed residential and commercial buildings for clients in Victoria and Vancouver. Working with architects and builders, he has prepared as-built drawings of residences for renovation permit applications.

Together with his partner Kelly Brooks he has designed their modern residence on Galiano Island. That project has included engineering and shop drawings for architectural fixtures such as cantilevered stair brackets, railing systems and light fixtures.

His experience with architecture and a life long career in marketing communications design provides a unique hybrid skill set that dovetails perfectly with the marketing objectives of architects and developers.
